My Interest In Golf

At age 5, my parents started taking me to the driving range. A few years later I attended a two week summer golf camp and my love for the game found it's roots.

I learned from friends that I could earn extra money by caddying at the local private course (Mississauga Golf and Country Club). I did, and the next year was hired to work the back and pro shop, which I did through high school.

One bonus of working at the club was I could play for free. My game started to improve and my score broke ninety, then eighty and at the moment I have a 4 handicap.

In the summers of '05 and '06 I was a member of the CJGA (Canadian Junior Golf Association) and played several events. In the summer of 05 my family helped host the inaugural Stephen Ames Cup, which pits the best junior Canadians against the national juniors of Trinidad and Tobago, Stephen Ames' homeland.

I started taking lessons and continued for two years with Sean Foley (coach for Stephen Ames, Hunter Mahan, Justin Rose and others). I have also participated as a caddie at the Canadian Open Pro Am, carrying bags in foursomes with Olin Browne, Paul Azinger and Bubba Watson.

I was a member of my high school team four years in a row, and in 2007/08 made the University of Guelph Golf team. In 2011 I graduated from the school of Landscape Architecture (University of Guelph) with an ambition to persue a career as a golf course designer or golf course superintendent.
